Jones Winery Summer Music Series 2023 with Holley McCreary
From our 2023 Summer Music Series on 8/27/23 with CT singer/songwriter Holley McCreary.
Holley's roots stem from the deep south. Growing up in Florida and Alabama, she was heavily influenced by both gospel music and Muscle Shoals sound.
In her latest venture, Holley is harkening back to her southern roots while embracing a fresh new sound for the artist. Pulling inspiration from artists like Bobbie Gentry, Susan Tedeschi, Bonnie Raitt and The Allman Brothers, Holley’s most recent releases are powerful, soulful compositions written over the last 20 years of her life. The experiences that have shaped her both as an artist and a person have also molded her music into the fresh new sound you hear today.
Holley is currently spending most of her time in the studio finishing off the tracks for her upcoming EP as well as performing both solo shows and shows with her band, "The Tune Squad" in CT.
Even though this video represents only her first set from this date (technical issues with the video affected the 2nd set), we know you'll enjoy this performance and we invite you to check out the other artists in our "Performers at the Winery" playlist here, representing past performances from some of CT's best singer/songwriters. Our series will continue again this summer of 2024 on Fridays and Sundays. We invite you to check our website and social media for specifics and plan to come often...for the music and for the spectacular wine, bites, and atmosphere of our beautiful setting here at Jones Family Farms!

The Strawberry Life Cycle at Jones Family Farms
Переглядів 5882 роки тому
The strawberries grown at Jones Family Farms are done in the traditional manner as we have done since first planting them in 1963, and then tending to them for a full year before their first harvest in the 2nd year of growing, and renovating our berries for the next year, rotating crops among the fields, and protecting them from the winter's cold - did we mention the weeding? There is a LOT of ...

Переглядів 7482 роки тому
A Pet Nat (short for the French 'pétillant naturel' meaning 'natural sparkling') is a wine made according to the ancestral method. Developed in the 16th century, this is the oldest way of making sparkling wine, and is the result of a single, continuous fermentation. 2022 is a very limited run.

Hey you old coot,My wasp out pollinate your bees every foookin day !

I am amazed that you save your own seeds, and you don’t get any cross pollination !
Wow so much pumpkins what's your secret ❤❤❤
It is a miracle :) God is good! Thanks for the video.
How far apart do you plant them?
Do you spray glyphosate it before rolling?
That is genius! I can't wait to do that in my pasture.
So how did it turn out?
How do you like the mf tractor 🚜
I remembered that this book was on Reading with Robin Adams on UA-cam. Another book by the same people that wrote and illustrated this book is called Flower Garden.
I remembered that this book was on Reading Explorers. I also found this book at Barnes and Noble.
I remembered that this book was on Reading Explorers and it's very educational.
I remembered that this book is educational and it also teaches us about the pumpkin lifecycle. Another book to deal with that is the book Pumpkin Circle. Also another fun and educational book for these people is The Pumpkin book by Gail Gibbons.
I remembered another book that this person should read. It's called Pumpkin Circle and it's about the lifecycle of pumpkins.
I remembered that this book was on both Kino's storytime and Reading Explorers.
I remembered that this book was on Reading Explorers.
I remembered that this book was on Kino's storytime and it's a Ukrainian folktale.
I remembered that this book was written by the same person that wrote the books Goodnight Moon and The Runaway Bunny.
Nice video!! I’m new to Pet Nat but make homemade sparkling the traditional method but don’t remove the lees.
Cover crops great, but discing/tillage just disrupts the soil.
It is wonderful to see another grower test other ways of growing, especially when I see a younger generation doing it! I have tried various methods of growing grapes as well. I still haven't stuck on one way at this point, but most of my vines are not single cordons. None are vertical shoots growing. I use mostly T posts, using different schemes. I even have one that uses three top cordons with the T posts. I will be changing that to only two cordons. It was too dense and too difficult to get the canes to grow correctly. Regarding your T posts; you should have at least one angled support bar between an end of the T rail and the post for extra support. I learned that the hard way during a heavy harvest yield. I will be experimenting with an arbor method this year. My goal is to create a small landscape environment for residential use. At this point, the method I have more hope for is a double curtain with one bull trunk, where the cordons split off the trunk at the top. One cordon going east and the other west. From there it will get tied to the cordon wire that runs north to south. I have lost many young vines because the trunk caliper was too narrow for a deep freeze, thus the thick bull trunks. I am also experimenting with growing vines in standard apple trees. I do this stuff for fun; much of it is not applicable to commercial operations. I will check out your other videos. What State and growing zone are you in? I don't recognize the cultivar, leading me to think zone 6 or 7.
Face it the other way so it doesn't dry out
Vicky Valencourt !! I would love get some of your expertise on my christmas tree farm here in Northern Michigan! Ride the ole lawn mower up someday and you can teach me some of your knowledge, eat some alligator or squirrel. Anyways, great content here! I enjoy your videos by the way! Keep up the great content! Merry Christmas!
Thanks now I don’t have to look like a fool in front of my wife and kid😂
Not bad . Better than the other videos online that don't show the process clearly
Nice of Phil Hartman to do that voiceover for you!
🎄👍🏻
You said 6 lengths of rope but I saw only 4 used.
I watch this every year 😂
Perfect hitch loop knot 🌲
Does it remove toxins from the soil
Thank you very much for reading this lovely book! Highly appreciated! Best of luck in all your projects!
Hi there, I hope this message finds you well. I’m reaching out to inquire about the best practices you employ for straw mulching the soil for pumpkins. Could you kindly share the process or techniques you usually follow? Any tips or advice on how to effectively do this to maximize the growth and health of the pumpkins would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your time and assistance. Best regards, Tomasz from Poland
What type of planter are you using to plant your pumpkins in the rye mulch? TIA
I remember this book and it's a great book.
Thank you to to the farm!
Love your farm! What is the reason for tilling the buckwheat while the flowers are still feeding the bees?
Do you sell Christmas trees? How much does a seedling cost to send to Vietnam?
What do you spray to keep your patch so clean?
We must be good to the land!
how to use hemp as a soil improvement crop. do i let it grow and dry out? or should it be green and then harvest it? how do i know when the soil is healthy to plant seeds in? how long does it take to make the soil healthy? thx
Just as it was done in the video. He used the spader to get the crop into the soil for organic matter. The sunn Hemp grew upto 6ft, the used the spader, then he's going to use a wheat for a cover crop for the winter so the soil stays covered at all times. All of this contributes to better soil.
A sweet dessert wine
Tillage kills microbes and induces compaction. Broadcast rye seed and roll... done.
Wow, this is amazing! What a great, extremely useful tool! Imagine having to do all that by hand (like I'd have to lol). Would take forever.
Awesome
Finnish fans are interested.🤣🌲👍
Its a good crimp crop
What is the spacing of your rows?
Nice content 😍 stay in touch New friend 🎉🎊😍🍎🍒🇵🇰
